To enhance the user experience with the RF 5.2mm f/2.8 L Dual Fisheye 3D VR lens, the updated firmware for the EOS R5 introduces special features tailored for VR shooting. This firmware provides metadata to convert fisheye images to equirectangular format. It includes a Magic Window on-screen overlay, accessible by tapping the INFO button, which helps frame the central resting position and shows an approximate field of view. The lens also supports 6x and 15x magnification and manual focus peaking, and allows you to switch between the left and right lenses with a simple tap of the INFO button, aiding in precise manual focus adjustments.

Canon's EOS VR System
The Canon EOS VR System consists of this lens paired with an EOS R5 camera running updated firmware and subscription-based software, such as Canon's EOS VR Utility or the EOS VR plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro, both currently in development.
