Equipped with a full suite of pro-level features—including a de-clickable aperture ring with lock, customisable AFL button, rear filter holder, Lens Heater Retainer, manual focus lock and a lockable petal-type hood—the 20mm F1.4 is engineered for maximum usability in demanding shooting conditions. Its advanced optical design incorporates two SLD and three aspherical elements, including the largest double-sided aspherical element ever used in a SIGMA lens. Aberrations, sagittal coma flare and distortion are effectively suppressed, ensuring images of exceptional sharpness, clarity and accuracy from edge to edge.

As part of the prestigious Art line, the 20mm F1.4 DG DN offers outstanding craftsmanship, premium materials and refined ergonomics. The exterior barrel is constructed from Thermally Stable Composite (TSC), a polycarbonate with thermal expansion characteristics similar to aluminium. This ensures consistent performance across temperature changes while keeping the lens both strong and lightweight.
The internal focusing system ensures the lens length never changes, maintaining a stable centre of gravity—perfect for gimbal work. A large rubberised focus ring provides precise manual control, while the durable brass mount features a rubber seal to protect against dust and moisture.
The aperture ring can be de-clicked for smooth, silent operation in video, or locked in Auto or Manual mode to prevent accidental shifts. A robust petal-type hood with lock mechanism helps control flare, provides protection for the front element, and features a rubberised grip for quick attachment or removal.
