Introducing the new Nikon Z f with 24-70mm f/4 lens-
Nikon has unveiled their latest full-frame FX format mirrorless camera in the Z-series, the Nikon Z f, which seamlessly combines their heritage design with advanced technology and exceptional performance. Inspired by the iconic FM2, the new Z f not only comes with a stunning design but also feels good in the hands of creators and photographers alike.
Featuring a heritage design inspired by the iconic FM2-
Drawing from Nikon's rich heritage, the Z f features a retro-inspired design inspired by the iconic FM2, along with the adoption of the dials, a shutter-release button, and the addition of Nikon''s logo from the 1970s. All the dials are made of brass for a premium, high quality feel.
Expanding possibilities for image expression-
In addition to the conventional monochrome Picture Control, the Nikon Z f with a 24-70mm f/4 lens introduces two new Picture Controls: flat monochrome and deep tone monochrome. The full-frame mirrorless camera also has a dedicated black-and-white position in the photo and video selector for seamless switching between controls. The Zf also features a wide range of inspiring functions, including Creative Picture Controls and pixel-shift shooting - a first-of-its-kind feature for this mirrorless camera.
Enhanced video performance to meet diverse needs-
Videographers will appreciate the improved video performance of the Nikon Z f, with exciting features such as in-camera 10-bit H.265 recording and the ability to record up to 125 minutes of 4K UHD footage. The full-frame mirrorless camera also includes some of the Z9's features, including the ability to adjust ISO sensitivity in 1/6 EV increments and the display of a red frame during video recording.
With the ability to record videos in shutter-priority auto mode, the Nikon Z f with a 24-70mm f/4 lens gives users more control over the shutter speed while the camera adjusts the aperture. The Zf also comes with new AF-area mode options, including 3D-tracking for photo mode and Subject-tracking AF for video mode. Additionally, the mirrorless camera also features pixels that optimise exposure for both image creation and autofocus, so users can easily focus on their intended subjects even in poorly lit or backlit conditions. The auto-area AF mode in the Zf comes with an increased range of coverage and has more focus points for improved tracking and acquisition performance with distant or moving subjects. Additionally, the custom wide-area AF mode options have been expanded, increasing its effectiveness in scenes with multiple subjects.
The new Nikon Z f is powered by the EXPEED 7 image-processing engine, which delivers high-quality image processing with reduced noise in flat portions of subjects. It is also the first Z-series mirrorless camera to include a vari-angle monitor, making it easier to shoot vertically. Additionally, the Pre-Release Capture function records images buffered up to one second before the shutter-release button is fully pressed. The Nikon Z f also has skin softening and portrait impression balance functions, which help users achieve their desired portraits, while the Rich-Tone Portrait Picture Control captures the subtle details of the subject's complexion.
The Nikon Z f with a 24-70mm f/4 lens utilises deep learning techniques that can identify the scene when capturing still images in auto-shooting mode. This intelligent feature allows for optimal exposure control, ensuring that every shot is perfectly exposed regardless of the shooting conditions. Moreover, the camera boasts exceptional dust- and drip resistance, providing photographers with peace of mind even when shooting in harsh environments. It also comes with two memory card slots, for both SD and Micro SD cards, so users can conveniently store and transfer their captured images. The camera's image sensor is also protected from dust thanks to its dual coating. Additionally, the merging of NEF (RAW) images captured through pixel shift shooting is supported with the use of NX Studio Ver.1.5.0. Moreover, the Picture Control Utility 2 functions have been consolidated into a single app for easier adjustment, application, and management of Picture Control settings.
